Bobbie D. Weiss – Obituary

Bobbie D. Weiss, 75, passed away with her children beside her early in the morning of July 3, 2015, following an extended illness. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Greenview Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with Wayne Wood and Charles Abernathy officiating.
Bobbie was a resident of Florence since 1968. As a Coast Guard wife she previously lived in Detroit, Manistee and Ludington, Michigan, Mobile, Alabama, and New Orleans. She was active in her church group at Chisholm Hills Church of Christ and the Senior Center at St. Florian as well as her Garden Club activities. Talking and socializing with family and friends in her spare time were her enjoyments in life.
Preceding her in death were her husband, U. S. Coast Guard Senior Chief Petty Officer Alan I. Weiss, and her parents, Robert M. “Bob” Chowning and Jewel D. Chowning. She is survived by her children, David A. Weiss and his wife, Tina; and Debra Lynn Manning and her husband, Mark; stepgrandson, Joshua Russell; and stepgranddaughter, Chelsea Phillips and her husband, Rocky.
Pallbearers will be David Weiss, Joshua Russell, Robert Irons, Mark Manning, Michael Weiss, Rocky Phillips, Mark Sandlin and Scott Lyndon. Honorary pallbearers will be James Young, Florence, Alabama, Richard Weiss, Lincoln Park, Michigan, and Gerald Weiss, Phoenix, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice.
