Jimmy-Hartsfield-1435163783Jimmy Leon Hartsfield, 73 of Arab died Monday, June 22, 2015 in Crestwood Medical Center, Huntsville.

Mr. Hartsfield was born November 30, 1941 in Marshall County, the son of Leon D. and Cleo Daniel Hartsfield. He served his Country in the Army National Guard as Sergeant First Class, retiring after 22 years of Honorable Service. He was also a lineman for South Central Bell, a member of Gilliam Springs Baptist Church, a member of the Arab Masonic Lodge and a volunteer for the V.A.

He is survived by his wife: Gloria Hartsfield; two daughters and sons-in-law: Kelly and Keith Meade and Leigh and Jason Hardin; two step daughters and spouse: Lori Poteate and Melissa and Brian Yeazel; grandchildren and spouses: Aaliyah Hardin, Kody and Mindi Meade, Kaitye and Gary Sellers, Adrian Johnston and Jordan Hardin; great grandchildren: Kasen Meade and E. J. Gulledge and a host of step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Brother Kenneth Smith, officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Guthrie, Jordan Hardin, Adrian Johnston, Kaleb Meade, Keith Meade and Bob Yeazel.

Visitation will be 12 Noon to 2 p.m. also on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.

Military Rites will follow the service here at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
