hazelHazel Almetia Stricklin Brannon Lambert departed this life on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the age of 83 years, 6 months, 6 days. She was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama, on November 17, 1931, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mae Bell McDaniel Brannon. On February 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to John Stricklin, who preceded her in death July 14, 1994. On September 23, 1995, she was united in marriage to Alton Lambert, who preceded her in death April 2, 2013.
Mrs. Lambert had lived in Hardin County most of her life and had worked for Angelica Manufacturing for 25 years. She was a member of the White’s Creek Baptist Church, and she enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, general homemaking, canning and freezing, singing, going to church and playing guitar.
Mrs. Lambert is survived by a daughter, Rita Patrick and husband, Bee of Florence, Alabama; son, Ezra Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee; stepdaughters, Wanda Rucker and husband David of Hernando, Mississippi, Barbara Thompson and husband, Wayne of Charlotte, Tennessee; sisters, Winnie Cummings, Lois Swinea and husband, Ernest, all of Florence, Alabama, and Kathy Hollis of St. Joseph, Tennessee; grandchildren, Rachel and Storme; step-grandchildren, Shelly, Bubba (Melanie), Eron (Brenda), Mandy (Zach), Candace, Cory (Abby) and Courtney (Daniel); five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys Brannon and Helen Pennington; brothers, R.C. Brannon, James Brannon, Wilburn Brannon and Larry Brannon.
Services will be held on May 27, 2015, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, Tennessee, with Jimmy McGee officiating. Burial will follow in the Forrest Ridge Family Cemetery at Gillis Mills, Tennessee.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the angels at Glenwood.
