Johnnie Clyde Townsend – Obituary

, age 83 of the Bryant Station community died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Townsend was a native of Hale county, Alabama, and he was the son of the late George and Della Crawford Townsend. He was a retired concrete superintendent from Al Johnson construction, was a veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of the Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Anne Townsend of the Bryant Station community, daughter, Roxanne (Ricky) Worthy of the Bryant Station Community, son, Terry Lee (Lea) Townsend of Pompano Beach, FL, two sisters, Louise Thomas of Greensboro, AL and Geneva Gilliam of Thomasville, AL, and three brothers, Eldridge Townsend of Jacksonville, FL, Ray Townsend of Mobile, AL and Ronald Townsend of Mobile, AL. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Chelsea Townsend, Luke Worthy, and Logan Worthy.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home for visitation on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
