James Vance Kinney – Obituary

James Vance Kinney, 76 of Lacey’s Spring, the Morgan City area died Saturday, May 2, 2015 in Huntsville Hospital.

Mr. Kinney, a life time resident of Morgan City was born December 6, 1938 in Morgan County, the son of Allie T. and Otealy Hill Kinney. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Highland Baptist Church and also a member of the Union Grove Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: T. K. and Jennifer Kinney; a daughter and son-in-law: Debbie and Jeff McLemore; four grandchildren: Anna McLemore, Skigh, Gaston and Connor Kinney; a brother: Alvin Kenney; a sister: Alice Williams and preceded in death by his wife: Nellie Moncrief Kinney (August 30, 2014) and his parents: Allie Thomas Kinney and Otealy Hill Kinney.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel, Morgan City Brother Shane Wheeler, officiating. Burial will be in the Hill Family Cemetery, Brindlee Mountain Chapel, Morgan City and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.

Pallbearers will be Greg Abercrombie, Gary Borden, Matthew Crawford,Patrick Crawford, Steve Crawford and Doug Oldacre

Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday May 3, 2015 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel, Morgan City.
