Paula Bowling Compton – Obituary

paulaFuneral for Paula Bowling Compton, 86, of Moulton will be Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with O.D. Bowling, Greg Compton and Dwight Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Compton, who died Saturday, March 28, 2015, at her residence, was born October 11, 1928, in Lawrence County to Aury Andrew Bowling and Josie Terry Bowling. She was a member of Pine Grove Holy Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arnold Bowling and Hollis Bowling; and sister, Estelle Alexander and husband, Charles M. Compton.
Survivors include four sons, Mitchell Compton (Vickie), Terry Joe Compton (Paula), Casey Compton (Rita) and Rockie Compton (Kristie); four daughters, Martha Owen (Flynn), Barbara Hill, Susan Thrasher (Keith) and Cathy Montgomery (Mark); 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Annie Boles and Joyce Stewart Smith (Charlie); and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Shane Owen, Johnny Yarbrough, Matt Montgomery, McCord Compton, Chance Compton, Joshua Compton and nephew, Jamie Compton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Flynn Owen, Keith Thrasher and Mark Montgomery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Alabama or Meals on Wheels.
