Mary Edna McVay Deaton, 90, of Tuscumbia, passed Monday, March 2, 2015. Her visitation will be Wednesday, March 4th from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. Her funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 with Darrell Pace and Steve Slayton officiating. Burial will follow in Mynot Cemetery.
Mrs. Deaton was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscumbia. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry McVay and Mary Etta Pounders McVay; her husband, Harvey Lee Deaton; granddaughter, Britney Deaton; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Rose; sons, Jimmy Deaton, Roger Deaton, and Tommy Deaton; daughter, Robbie Nell Deaton Medford; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and three step children, Tim, Mark, and Michelle.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
