We deeply regret the passing of Charles “Buddy” Thornton on February 19, 2015. He was born February 25, 1935, to the late Charles Claude Thornton and Eloise Meredith Reed Thornton. He was preceded in death also by his former wife and mother of his children, Betty Jo Brooks Thornton; two sons, Everett Claude Thornton and Anthony Freeman Thornton; and two sisters, Temperance McGhee and Mamie Fowler.
He is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Thornton Broadway, of Daphne, AL; two grandchildren, Brandi Bell West and Justin Kyle Broadway; three great-grandchildren, Clayton Winegardner, Harley Jo Brooke West and Lindan West; two sisters, Ann Thornton and Jean Thornton La Hay; and one brother,
John Jasper Thornton.
