TENNESSEE VALLEY– A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect for central Alabama as well as for Cullman, Franklin, Lawrence, and Morgan Counties in the Tennessee Valley from 3 p.m. Monday through 9 p.m. Monday.

A light wintry mix will move in from northern and central Mississippi Monday afternoon.
Up to a half-inch of snow and a tenth of an inch of ice are possible for the advised areas. The more significant accumulations should occur south of Hwy 278. We may see a few flurries north of the Tennessee River, but the better chance of anything sticking snow will be south.
If you’re traveling to Birmingham or to anywhere in central Alabama, prepare for slick spots and a slower drive than normal. Any travel problems could linger into Tuesday as temperatures will stay below freezing tonight.
