Douglas McArthur Runyon, 71, of Florence, AL, passed away January 25, 2015 in Blacksburg, South Carolina. Mr. Runyon was a truck driver for Osborne Trucking and a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Runyon is survived by wife Barbara Gove Runyon; sons Jonny Runyon and Emanual Runyon; step-sons John and Paul Baxter; daughter Sheila Runyon Buttersworth; step-daughter Dawn Baxter; and sister Jane Runyon. He was preceded in death by his parents Moss “Jack” Runyon and Pearl Hinsley Runyon.
Visitation for Mr. Runyon will be Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at Rogersville First Church of God. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. with Waylon Hill officiating. Pallbearers will be Bruce Buttersworth, Paul Baxter, Jonny Runyon, and Emanual Runyon.
