amhof logo 250x250TUSCUMBIA-Beginning the third Tuesday of February, February 17, and continuing each third Tuesday during the year, the Alabama Music Hall of Fame will host a new and entertaining event titled “Third Tuesday.”

Each event will feature live musicians during the “Brown Bag” hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The first show features guest artists Kerry Gilbert and Hugh Banks, best known for their participation in the KGB band as well as their incredible vocal and guitar sounds.IMG_3878-copy

“The live musicians will bring their own special touch of musical accompaniment and local lore to each session. Not often do you get the chance to hear the real, raw vocals, guitar picking and piano playing from the folks who still carry on the ‘Shoals Sound’ that the area is famous for all over the world.” said Dixie Griffin, Manager.

“Third Tuesday sprang out from the requests and comments of the Hall of Fame’s many visitors who longed to talk to some local musicians about their talents as well as the talents of those enshrined in the Hall. So many of the current groups know and have played music with the honorees.” said Griffin.

This event will be held in the lobby of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame each Third Tuesday. The event is a free to all those who attend. Participants are invited to bring their own “brown bag” lunch. Tours of the facility are also available. Counts Brothers Music in Muscle Shoals will supply the equipment for each event.

Future guest artists will be Larry Crowell and David Dotson for March, and Wayne Bailey, Tony Lee and Larry Miles for April.
