gay_marriage400 MONTGOMERY-Several media sources have reported that  a Federal Court has put a temporary hold on implementing the overturning of Alabama’s ban on same-sex marriage.

The court ruled that Attorney General Strange has not shown enough cause for an indefinite stay.  The court believes that it should hear the appeal made by the Attorney General before allowing same-sex marriage to go forward in the state.  Therefore a two-week stay has been allowed to let Attorney General Strange to ready arguments for a permanent hold on the ruling.

Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange argued that the ruling be put on hold until the Supreme Court rules on similar cases in the first half of 2015.  Strange argues that the issue will be decided in a more  final way at this time.
