Larry Stutts Sworn In As New State Senator For District 6

TUSCUMBIA-Larry Stutts has been sworn in as the new state senator for District 6.  Stutts was sworn in on Friday, November 28, 2014  at 9 am on the Colbert County Courthouse steps in Tuscumbia.  Stutts becomes the new state senator over a very narrow margin beating the incumbent Roger Bedford by 17,641 to Bedford’s 17,574 in the election held on November 4th..

State law requires that elections with a margin of victory of .5 percent or less will require a recount.  The official recount will not take place until Monday, December 1st.
