Sis. Clezelle Willingham Vinson was
born July 21, 1949 to the late ‘Dave, Jr
and Clezelle Willingham in Courtland,
Alabama.
She departed this life on November 24, 2014 finishing a long battle
peacefully at the home..
She was a graduate of Central High School class of 1968, where she
was the “Best” cheerleader and “Fastest” track runner. This is how she
earned her nickname “Nappy Brown”.
Clezelle found her love in the kitchen doing what she love “Cooking”
meals for her family and friends. She also had her best day watching
the Courtland Chief’s while yelling from the stands.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age at 8th Avenue Church of
God in Christ. She later joined Grace Tabernacle Church of God in
Christ were she served faithfully as the Pastor’s Aid President, Head
Tenor in the choir and head of the Kitchen Committee. She was
dedicated to her church and church members until her health declined.
Clezelle was preceded in death by her husband of 10 years, George
Alex Vinson; two brothers, Connie D. Willingham, John Davis
Willingham; two sisters, Annie Mae Willingham and Libby Sue
Jackson.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories: two daughters,
Angelia Willingham, and Maronica Mason, both of Courtland, AL;
one son Markess Gholston(Sabrina), Muscle Shoals. AL; four sisters,
Sallie Mason(Benny), Decatur, AL, Helen Jacobs(Victor), Durham,
NC, Pearl Duff(Kenneth), Credmoor, NC, Christian Cal(Bruce),
Florence, AL; three brothers, George Willingham, Dave Willingham,
III(Phyllis), all of North Courtland, AL, Richard Greene(Shirley),
Town Creek, AL; five grandchildren, JaVaris, Markes, Markessia,
Tarika, and Bret “L”; four great grandchildren, Angel Aleah, Aiyden
and Carson; three God Children, Darryl Roberts, Calvin Hood, Jr,
Shatara Watkins. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
