Driver Pleads Guilty to Multiple Federal Counts

OriginalOXFORD, MS – On Wednesday, August 6, 2014, a truck driven by Donnie Sartain of Tishomingo, MS, crossed the center line and struck a motorcycle killing both riders. Sartain was arrested on scene for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence.

On August 19, 2014, a federal grand jury in Oxford, MS handed-down a four count indictment in the case. Sartain was indicted on two counts of Driving Under the Influence Resulting In Death and two counts of Negligent Homicide/Manslaughter under 18 United States Code 1112.

On November 20, 2014, Donnie Sartain plead guilty to two counts of Negligent Homicide under 18 United States Code 1112. Sentencing is expected to occur in January 2015.
