Natchez Trace Parkway Rangers Respond to Two Separate Motor Vehicle Collisions with Fatalities Over the Weekend

Traffic-Accident-Logo-Stop-ConesTUPELO-On Saturday, November 22, 2014, at approximately 4:20 a.m., rangers responded to a
single vehicle accident at mile marker 272. The driver, Joseph Triste, 35, of Dennis, MS, appears to
have fallen asleep and failed to negotiate a curve striking a tree. On Sunday, November 23, 2014, at
approximately 5:00 p.m., rangers responded to a single motor vehicle accident at mile marker 191.
The driver, Billy Burton, 56, of Ackerman, MS, lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. A storm
was in the area, but it is unknown if it contributed to the accident.
Rangers remind drivers to maintain a proper speed for roadway conditions and always wear a
seatbelt.]
