DECATUR – The Tennessee Valley Authority is asking the public for input about upgrades to its transmission system in the Trinity and west Decatur areas that would provide power for growing industrial load and increase power reliability.
TVA is proposing to build about two miles of double-circuit transmission line from the Trinity-Wilson 161-kilovolt transmission line to Joe Wheeler Electric Membership Corporation’s new substation on Mountain Home Road about a half mile east of County Road 431.
The line would be built on steel pole structures on a 100-foot right of way. Several alternate line routes are under consideration.
Public input is encouraged, beginning with an open house from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 795 North Seneca Drive, Trinity, Alabama.
Detailed maps showing the different locations being considered for the proposed transmission line will be available. TVA staff
