Carl Edwin Hale – Obituary

Memorial service for Carl Edwin Hale, age 71, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, November 4, 2014, 6:00 p.m., at Central Park Baptist Church with Bro. Jackie Kay and Bro. David Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.

Mr. Hale passed away October 29, 2014. Carl was born to the late Leonard and Velva Hale on August 17, 1943, in Mound City, IL. He was preceded in death by one son, Brian Hale.

He graduated from the University of Illinois, receiving a BS and an MS in Civil Engineering. Before opening his own construction company in 1996, Carl retired from TVA after 25 years of service. He was a man of faith and integrity, a hard worker with a unique sense of humor. In addition to hunting and fishing, he enjoyed doing missions work.

He is survived by his wife, Dianna Hale of Decatur; two children, Bradley Hale of Decatur, and Kimberly Hale of Dickson, TN; one brother, Wayne Hale (Bobbie Kay) of Foley; one daughter-in-law, Mary Hale of NC; and six grandchildren, Jackson Hale, Sara Hale, Andrew Hale, Caroline Hale, Garrett Hale, and Marlee Hale; and a numerous amount of much-loved uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to American Heart Association, or the Missions Fund at Central Park Baptist Church.
