After his retirement from Reynolds, Coolidge pursued his passions of hunting and farming. At age 89, he enjoyed a final successful turkey season and the bragging rights that came along with his achievements. The only thing Coolidge loved more than hunting and farming was spending time with family. Each year, he eagerly anticipated the annual Hatton family reunion and the opportunity to connect with his many nieces, nephews and relatives. He enjoyed Sunday dinners with his immediate family and could be found sitting at the head of the table with a content smile, wise word and hilarious story.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Hatton; his parents Byron and Minnie Hatton; and siblings Luther, Ludi, Ada, Virgle, Woodrow, Virmon, Leslie, Curtis and Levert.

He is survived by his sisters, Claudie Speck and Frances Flippo; sons, Kenneth Hatton (Deborah) and Dwain Hatton; grandchildren, Devin Hatton (Erin), Alana Parker (Chris), Lauren Hatton and Ashley Hatton; and great-grandchildren, Cade and Mackie Drew Parker.
