Bertie Lucille Goode age 89 of Athens, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Athens Rehab and Senior Care. Mrs. Goode was born November 26, 1924 in Limestone County, AL to Calvin “Doc” Goode and Lyndia Evans Goar.
Services will be Friday, October 24, 2014 1:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor John Dees officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evans Cemetery.
Mrs. Goode was a member of Popular Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Goode was preceded in death by her husband, Benford Goode; parents, Calvin “Doc” and Lyndia Goar.
Survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Batrum and husband, Bill of Toney, AL, Peggy Anderson of Athens and Shelia Miller and husband, Billy of Tanner; six grandchildren, Denna Thompson, Lesa Gilbert both of Athens, Tracy Kyle of Toney, Amy Williams, Barry Cultice and Susan Gilbert all of Athens; eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Miller, Fred Jackson, Barry Festus Kyle, Bill Batrum, Greg Thompson, Neil Goode and Daniel Goode.
