Vernon Wade Nelms, 70, of Muscle Shoals, died Saturday, October 18, 2014. His visitation will be Monday, October 20th from 6 pm until 8 pm at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Tuesday, October 21st, at 11 am, in the funeral home chapel with David Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Nelms was a member of Ford City Baptist Church. He retired from Bigbee Steel Buildings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Lillie Nelms; two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his son, Steven Nelms (Tammy); daughters, Lisa Elledge (Jeff), and Jeannie Howard (Sam); mother of his children, Louise Lane; sister, Jewel Brown; grandchildren, Lakin Howell, Tiffanie Elliott, Kelli Puckett, Austin Tucker, and Dylan Nelms; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alan, David, and Robbie Nelms; Joel, Jay, and Brett Brown.
