Natchez Trace Parkway Temporary Road Closure in Colbert County, Alabama

natcheztraceMilepost308 to 338CHEROKEE-Natchez Trace Parkway officials announce that repairs on the Parkway near Cherokee, Alabama will begin on September 23, 2014 and will require the closure of the Parkway from US 72 to Pike Road for repairs to the roadway embankment at milepost 322.8.  The closure will be in effect between milepost 320.4 and milepost 326.3.  Construction is expected to be completed by December 2014.

 

Parkway visitors are encouraged to take precautions and be prepared to use the recommended detour routes. Detour signage will direct visitors onto the designated route. The length of the detour is 12.1 miles with an estimated travel time of 18 minutes.

 

Southbound traffic will exit the Parkway at Pike Road (milepost 326.3), travel south to Cross Lane, east to Moody Lane, south to Old Lee Highway, west to US 72, and continue west to US 72 where traffic may reenter the Parkway.

 

Northbound traffic will exit the Parkway at US 72 (milepost 320.4), travel east to Old Lee Highway, east to Moody Lane, north to Cross Lane, west to Pike Road, and north on Pike Road where traffic may reenter the Parkway.
