Funeral service for Mrs. Marie Barnes, age 84, of Trinity, will be Monday, September 1, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service, at Oak Grove Congregational Church with Rev. Shane Williams and Rev. Bobby Bentley officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 31, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Congregational Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes, who died Friday, August 29, 2014, at her residence, was born April 21, 1930, in Morgan Co., to Charlie and Lorene Stover Stewart. She was preceded in death by her husband Talmadge Barnes and one grandson, Talmadge Rodney Barnes.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky Barnes (Anita) and Gaylon Barnes (Jeritta) both of Trinity, one sister, Linda Brakeman (Bobby) of Decatur, four grandchildren, Brandon Barnes, Lamar Sparkman, Kristan Bryant, and Anthony Abney, and one great grandson, Sawyer Bryant.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Standridge, Glenn Standridge, Greg Standridge, Kenny Voss, Jereld Owens and Garry Voss.
