DECATUR-On Friday, August 29th Decatur Police received a call regarding a stabbing on 3rd Avenue. Here is how the Decatur Police Describe the stabbing and the arrest of a suspect:
SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
“On 8/29/14 at 1:05 am, Decatur Police received a call of a stabbing at 417 3rd Ave SW in Decatur.
Micheal Lyn Smith (49) of 417 3rd Ave SW was found by Officer suffering from a knife wound to the abdomen. Smith was transported to Huntsville Hospital by ambulance, where he was taken into surgery.
Smith is expected to make a full recovery.
George Hollis Cantrell of 419 3rd Ave SW was charged with 2nd Degree Assault. He will be transferred to the Morgan Co Jail in lieu of a total of $3000 bond.”
