grease festivalATHENS-It is time to start our search for our 2014 Athena – Grease Goddess, to serve during the third annual Athens Grease Festival on Sept. 27.
Attached is a nomination form. Please submit one on behalf of a Limestone County woman who gives back to the City of Athens. Last year, our first Athena was Helen Carter of Elkmont, who works tirelessly in the community with the Senior Centers, CASA, Relay for Life, etc.
Use your imagination. Athena could be a high school student, a senior citizen, a CEO, a coach, a volunteer, etc. She just has to go above and beyond in a way that benefits Athens, such as mentoring students, picking up litter, raising money for cancer awareness, volunteering her expertise to a non-profit agency, etc. Bonus points if she makes a great fried dish.
