Wanna Mae Porter RedmonŽÿdjÿhn‘ÿflÿmbÔJGƄ Wanna Mae Porter Redmon age 76 passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born and reared in Chester County the Hickory Corner Community, the daughter of the late Ardie Willis and Pearlie May Stansell Porter. She went to school at Old Friendship. She married Jere Redmon and they made their home at Finger. She had worked as a waitress at the Electric Grill for Red and Odessa Austin and several garment factories in the area. She had made her home at Bethel Springs since 1987. She was a member of First Baptist Church Bethel Springs.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was selfless, kind hearted and witty. She loved her cat named Sox.

She is survived by a son, Jeff Redmon and wife Kathy of Selmer; a daughter, Beverly Carroll of Bethel Springs; seven grandchildren, Kelsey Redmon of whom she raised, Shane Pugh, Jennifer Willey, Jessica Goodrum, Jason Redmon, Dakota Redmon and Michael Moore and five great grandchildren; a brother, J. Arlin Porter of Henderson; three sisters, Ann Bennett and husband Walt of Finger, Lurene Faulkner of Bethel Springs and Betty Weaver and husband Bobby of Finger and a brother-in-law, Manuel Smith of Finger.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Redmon in 1998 and a sister, Elvie Smith.

Funeral services will be 5:00 PM Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with burial in Cave Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Saturday.
