FLORENCE – Judge Carole Medley says that she would not have been as lenient with Dan Beavers as District Attorney Chris Connolly. But she honored an agreement between Connolly and attorney John Odem, Beavers’ lawyer.

Beavers, the one-time heating and Air conditioning contractor, was in Medley’s courtroom Tuesday on charges that, while on probation for operating his company without a State of Alabama license, he continued to do work. This past May, was found guilty on two separate charges of working without the proper license and was sentenced to a 12-month period of incarceration on each charge. The sentences were suspended for 24 months, and he was ordered not to work on heating and air systems without a proper license. However in June, Court records show that Beavers was observed working on 2 separate occasions, and was sent to jail in July to begin serving his existing terms while he was awaiting a Court date on the new charges.

So now, Dan Beavers is at home wearing an ankle bracelet. Medley ordered him there for 2 years. The only time he can lawfully leave his home is to go to his doctor and visit church.

According to news reports, the Lauderdale County School Board Chairman is seeking advice on the possibility of terminating Beavers’ membership position, which pay him $800 per month.
