DECATUR- A Decatur Police Officer was responding to a trespassing call at an apartment complex at the intersection of West Moulton and 8th Avenue SW in Decatur when a fight between two females broke out. Here is how the Decatur Police describe events leading up to the arrest of the two women:
SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
“On 6/25/14 at about 1245pm, Ofc Derek Annerton was at 201 8th Ave SW responding to a trespassing call at the apartment complex, located at the intersection of W. Moulton St and 8th Ave SW.
While there, a car pulled up occupied by Jessica McDonald. Alexis Bolding saw McDonald pull up and she walked past Ofc Annerton and confronted McDonald over an issue between the two.
The verbal confrontation became physical. During the initial stages of the fight, McDonald armed herself with a box cutter, and began swinging it at Bolding, cutting her on the arm multiple times.
At one point, Bolding was able to remove the box cutter from McDonald and cut her arm with it. Ofc Annerton was able to stop the fight before any other injuries were received by either female.
McDonald went to Parkway Hospital by ambulance, where she was treated and released.
Bolding went to the Decatur Morgan Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Both were charged with Disorderly Conduct by Annerton.
After the investigation, Sgt Silvestri charged both women with Assault 2nd Degree, a class C Felony. They were both transferred to the Morgan Co Jail in lieu of their respective bonds.
Section 13A-6-21
Assault in the second degree.
(a) A person commits the crime of assault in the second degree if the person does any of the following:
(2) With intent to cause physical injury to another person, he or she causes physical injury to any person by means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument.
(3) He or she recklessly causes serious physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument.”
