FLORENCE-A reported assault on Tuesday, June 24 results in victim being treated for her injuries and a Florence man jailed. Here is how the Florence Police describe the ensuing events:
“A Florence Man has been arrested following a Domestic Altercation. John Carter Collins, III, 30, of Florence was arrested today following a reported assault. Collins was taken into custody this afternoon and charged with Kidnapping, Domestic Violence Strangulation, and Domestic Assault involving an alleged overnight incident involving a female. The female reported being assaulted by Collins. Evidence developed by investigators in this case showed that Collins held the female against her will and assaulted her during the altercation. The female, who’s name is not being released, sought treatment for her injuries. Collins is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.”
