Lloyd M. Brooks – Obituary

Lloyd M. Brooks, 67, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 1, 2014. Lloyd was born in Andalusia, AL. He lived in Morgan County where he raised Santa Gertrudis beef cattle from 1982 until this year. He was an Elder at Twickenham Church of Christ for 20 years. He received degrees from Auburn University and UAH, served in the US Army and worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the US Army Civil Service for 32 years. After retirement, he worked for AMTEC and was a Program Manager for Sierra Lobo.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Mittie Brooks and his sister, Linda Brooks. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Margie; his daughter, Bunny Brooks; his son, Mike Brooks (Whitney); one granddaughter, Mattie Brooks; his brother, Lehn Brooks (Diana) and other loving family members.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 3 at Twickenham Church of Christ. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4 at the church.

The family requests that donations be made in his name to the Hacienda of Hope, c/o Twickenham Church of Christ or to the SCT Patient Housing at Vanderbilt University.
