MUSCLE SHOALS – Legendary songwriter Peanutt Montgomery was honored Friday night with a Star at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Musician and songwriter since the 1950’s, Montgomery, who lives in Sheffield gave an acceptance speech to the audience of his friends that was poignant, filled with gratitude to those who he said helped him in his career, and was at the same time – typical of Peanutt – very funny.
His wife Charlene Montgomery was there signing her new biography of their long time friend and compatriot, George Jones.
