Shooting In Decatur Under Investigation

shootingDECATUR-The Decatur Police Department is investigating  a shooting incident that took place on Monday, May 5th at 11:45 am.   Here is how they describe events leading up to the shooting:

“SHOOTING Investigation:

At 11:45 am officers were dispatched to 1007 7th ave S.W. on the report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival the home owner Jason Brown and his sister Joy McClimans wanted Joy’s estranged husband Gary Lynn McClimans ll trespassed from the residence because of ongoing harassment. Gary McClimans was still at the residence and Officers issued a trespass warning to him and he left the area. After officers left, Gary McClimans ll returned within just a few minutes and kicked the locked front door to the residence open. The homeowner Jason Brown fired two shots from a 9MM pistol striking Gary McClimans in the chest. Gary McClimans was transported to Huntsville Hospital by Air Evac.

Officers have been dispatched to this location several times in the last two months. Gary McClimans II has a Trinity, Alabama address.

Investigation continuing.”
