Athens police officers will partner with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department and be on a scissor lift above Wal-Mart seeking donations to support the Special Olympics of Alabama.drugs

Prescription Drug Take Back
Saturday, April 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Athens Police Department
Please do not throw your prescription drugs in the trash or flush them down the toilet, which releases them into the environment. Safely discard them by taking them to APD for proper disposal.

trail ride19th annual Limestone County TRIAD Trail Ride
Saturday, April 26, 10 a.m., Elkmont Rural Village
TRIAD is an organization that partners seniors with law enforcement. $15 adults, $5 children 12 and under and $5 for non-riders. Includes hamburgers, hot dogs and desserts. Proceeds support Project LifeSaver in Athens and Limestone County and the law enforcement appreciation breakfast. Gate opens at 8 a.m. Enter by the campground from Easter Ferry Road.
