Avery Earl Allen – Obituary

averyMr. Avery Earl Allen, 74, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at ECM Hospital. He was a member of Helton Drive Church of Christ, the American Legion, was retired from Wise Alloys Plant, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Allen will be available for viewing from 8 – 5 p.m. on Friday and until service time Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Ken Chapman. Burial will follow in Bailey’s Chapel Cemetery, Killen, Ala. with military funeral honors.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his son, Conrad Allen; parents, Avery and Ruth Allen; sister, Edna Ruth Jackson; niece, Goldie Mae Jackson; nephews, Cullen Jackson, Jr., and Reginald “Ricky” Cole.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis Allen; daughters, Jacquelyn A. Allen, Jennifer D. Jarmon (Corey); brothers, Hershiel Allen (Jo Ann), Willie Bruce Allen (Geneva), Joe Louis Allen (Vera); sisters, Annie Lucille King, Mary Jean Cole (Calvin), Barbara Stine McDaniel (Harold); grandchildren, Christopher Allen Jarmon, Robert Avery Jarmon; grand-dog, Sir Winston Allen; nieces and nephews, Patricia Agee, Dale Jackson, Jo Ann Stewart, Veronica Allen, Bruce Edward Allen, Vida Belue, Sherhonda Allen, Sherry Allen, Benita Logdson, Audrey King, Donetta Moore, David King, Maurice Cole, Donna Beasley, Stephanie Cole, Derrick Cole, Tammy Pulley, Harold McDaniel, Jr., Steven McDaniel, Cedric Allen, CB Allen, and Tisha Meredith.

Pallbearers will be Harold McDaniel, Jr., Derrick Cole, Maurice Cole, Steven McDaniel, Paschal Pulley, and Dale Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, the Wounded Warrior Project, or the American Legion Post 11 of Florence, Ala.
