patriciaPatricia Jane Abbott McClellan, 60 of Houston, AL, passed away on April 14, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.

 

She was born on September 10, 1953 in Houston. Mrs. McClellan graduated from Addison High School in 1971 and went on to work at Houston Wood Products for 21 years. She enjoyed going to the lake, fishing, gardening, four wheeling, spending time with family, and especially her grandchildren.

 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 5-7pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where a memorial service will be held at 7pm. Brother Robert Partridge will officiate.

 

She is survived by her life partner, Bobby Hunter; daughter, Michelle Rice; step daughter, Gina (Stevie) Knight; sister, Sharon (Steve) Cagle; brother in law, Wayne (Judy) Gunter; she was Granny to 4 grandchildren, Nathan Rice, Ethan Rice, Abby Kayte Elliott and Destiny Knight; special nephew, Michael (Lea) Gunter; special niece, Kaci Kay Cagle; special great nephews, Tristan and Tanner Gunter; Bobby’s children, Amy Hunter, Brandi Hunter and Cameron (Jamie) Hunter; Bobby’s grandchildren, Jamie and Summer Hunter and Braxton Hunter; Bobby’s sisters, Shirley (Michael) Langston and Ruby (George) Myers; and Bobby’s brother, Herman Hunter.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Hammack Abbott; daddy, Loyal Jackson Abbott; step mother, Viola Abbott; daughter, Melissa Kay Kershaw; and sister, Linda Abbott Gunter.

 

The family would like to thank the staff at Walker Baptist Medical Center, Dr. Horsley and her staff, Dr. Baker, Amedisys Home Health, Gentiva Hospice, Southern Care Hospice, Hendrix Health Care, and all of the family and friends who have taken care of our beloved mother, grandmother and sister.
