George Robert McDonald, 86, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Tuesday April 15, 2014 at home surrounded by his family .
Visitation will be Thursday April 17, 2014 from 12-2pm at Colbert Memorial Chapel, with funeral services to begin at 2:00 P.M.in the chapel. Burial to follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brothers Guy McDaniel, James Wyers, and Chad Holder will be officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington and Alma Irene Wyers McDonald, sisters, Nelda Coons and Betty Ann Eckles.

Survivors include his wife of 65 wonderful years, Genell McDonald
Son, Jerry McDonald (Tyanne)
Daughters, Robbie Hardin-Lee (Jim) and Tamela “Tammy” Franks.

Brother, Harold McDonald (Millie)
Sister, Carolyn Abston (Dan)
Grandchildren, Katrina Denegri (Steve), Wes Hardin (Ashley), Jared McDonald, Joshua Scroggins (Jamie), Jena Franks, Jami Clark (Kyle) and Jade Franks.

Great-grandchildren, Andrew and Ben Denegri, Taylor and Emma Hardin, Conner McDonald, Sarah, Ethan and Jude Scroggins, Landon and Ella Clark and Zane Franks Howell.
A host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Pallbearers will be Donald Ray Coons, Clay Eckles, Mac Abston, Hal McDonald, Chris Coons, Terry Vickery, Marlon Hamm and Wallace Young.

G.R. was a member and Elder of Southern Blvd / Tri-Cities Church of Christ, one of the first volunteer fireman of Muscle Shoals and a member of the Cattleman’s Association He was a beloved husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend who will be missed by all who loved him.

A special thanks to all the caregivers and full staff of Advantage Hospice for the love and care given to our dear daddy.
