Charles Keith Franks
TUSCUMBIA-The Colbert County Sheriff’s Department is holding Charles Keith Franks,59 of Cherokee on Attempt To Commit Murder. Here is how The Colbert County Sheriff describes the incident:
“Charles Keith Franks, age 59, of 335 Patrick Lane, Cherokee has been charged with Attempt to Commit Murder with bond set at $100,000. Still in Jail.
On 4-10-14 Deputies were dispatched to Barton Station for a stabbing call. When deputies arrived they learned that the victim Kenny Brown had been riding in a white Ford extended cab truck with Charles Franks and franks wife. The victim stated that he had been stabbed by Franks. The victim had wounds in the back. The victim was flown to ECM hospital. A Bolo was issued for Franks and his wife, who fled west on hwy 72 west after the stabbing. On 4-11-14 The Franks turned themselves into authorities and were transported to Colbert County. On 4-14-15 the Investigators were able to speak in person with the victim and get a statement. On 4-15-14 after discussing the facts of this case with the District Attorneys office Franks was charged with Attempt to Commit Murder.”
