Mary M. Thomas of Cordova, TN, formerly of Selmer, TN, departed this life on April 11, 2014 in Memphis at the age of 86 Years, 4 Months, 9 Days. She was born December 2, 1927 in Covington, TN the daughter of the late Eddie Parnell Martin and Essie Mae Butler Martin.
She was united in marriage to Hugh (Tommy) Thomas on February 24, 1945. Mr. Thomas preceded her in death on June 11, 2003.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Selmer. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Smith and husband Dr. Jamie Smith of Selmer, TN; two grandchildren, Holly England of Booneville, MS, John Smith of Selmer, TN; five great grandchildren, Anna Chaney and husband Nathan of Starkville, MS, Colby England of Jackson, MS, Abbey England of Booneville, MS, Cross Smith, Cana Smith of Selmer, TN; three sisters, Nellie Farabee of Cordova, TN, Peggy Wiseman of Covington, TN, Janie Williams of Jane, MO.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Parnell Martin, Jr..
