Gladys W. Brown died peacefully at Crestwood Hospital on Saturday. She was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Willie K. and Gladys B. Williams.
Gladys married John A. Brown in 1947. They resided in Mobile, Alabama where their two children were born. Since 1963, Mrs. Brown resided in Huntsville where she cared for her family. She was a long-time member of College Park Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2009.
She is survived by daughter Judy Frey and husband Terry; son, John A. Brown, Jr. and wife Patricia; brother, Jim Maples; sisters, Billie Pippin and Joyce Moncrief; six grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 29, from 11 am to 1 pm at College Park Church of God, 3801 Holmes Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35816. Funeral service will follow at 1 pm at the church. Family graveside burial at Huntsville Memory Gardens will follow the service.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Mark Frey, John A. Brown III, David Brown, Ben Brown, Jamie Waldroup, and Chance Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to College Park Church of God; Gladys Brown memorial.
