ATHENS-The City of Athens Relay for Life Team has 3 remaining large fundraisers before our countywide Relay celebration on May 2. (Last year a little over $14,000 was raised. )
The annual Celebrity Waiters Night at Applebee’s will be April 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Can a hospital CEO take orders better than a sheriff? Can a mayor charm tips out of diners better than a city councilman? These waiters will be vying to see who can earn the most tips for the American Cancer Society. I’ve attached a flyer if you can help us spread the word.
The annual City of Athens Relay for Life Bass Fishing Tournament will be May 10 at safe light until 3 p.m. at Ingall’s Harbor in Decatur. This is the largest fundraiser for Relay for Life, and we are assisted by the Limestone Lunkers. One of the original organizers of this event died of cancer during the second tournament, so this event holds a special place in the hearts of all Relay for Life volunteers.

They are available at City Hall, Athens Utilities on Jefferson St. or you can call 256-233-8730. If you have a group order, They can delivered.
The City of Athens wants to thank you for your support! Your contributions do help local cancer patients with wigs, scarves, support groups, transportation, etc., and with cancer research in Alabama and nationally.
