bbandbsTHE SHOALS-The 29th annual Our Bowl For Kids Sake for Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Shoals will be taking place March 14th, 15th and 16th,Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a fun and easy way for you and your company, friends, or family to support the life-changing work of Big Brothers Big Sisters. One of the major sponsors of this event, Long Lewis Ford encourages their employees to raise money for BBBS by creating their own teams.  Each team has their own shirts and they compete with each other for bragging rights on who can bowl the most strikes.  The challenge ends with the losing team cooking steaks for the rest of the company.   This is a great way for a sponsor to get their employees involved in the event.   If you have a competitive spirit…get your team together and join Big Brothers Big Sisters for a fun night of bowling this coming Friday.

Last year $18000 was raised for BBBS and the goal this year is $20000.  If you make a $25 donation to this cause you will receive a free T-shirt.  There will be door prizes and a grand prize for the top money raiser.  According to Gina Mashburn CEO/Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, “We depend on corporate sponsorships and also individuals and groups from the community to register teams of family, friends, coworkers to solicit donations and come out to bowl during the event.   We have about 65 kids waiting to be matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister right now. We have about 120 matches. We have two types of programs…Community Based where the Big picks up the child at his home and they engage in activities out in the community and then the School Based is at Sheffield City Schools and Red Bay, we use high school students and other adults to mentor the children at school.”

If you care about kids and can spare an hour to have fun with your friends, then Bowl for Kids’ Sake is for you! – See more at: http://www.bbbsshoals.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=1098408#sthash.oJrA2lXa.dpuf
