Drug bust nets two suspects

DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit conducted a narcotics investigation in the months of January and February of 2014 involving the sell of cocaine in the city limits of Decatur and here is what they found and who they have arrested on alleged drug charges:

julio brito“During the months of January and February 2014 members of the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit conducted a narcotics investigation concerning illegal drug activity with a male named Sorrell Torvor Hubbard. Hubbard sold cocaine on three separate occasions at different locations throughout the Decatur City Limits. 

On February 17, 2014 members of the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crimetorvor hubbard Unit and Patrol Division located Hubbard and another male identified as Julio Cesar Brito at the Chevron convenience store parking lot at 17 14th Street SW Decatur, AL. Hubbard and Brito were found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. Brito resisted his arrest and was later found to be in possession of a handgun, quantity of marijuana, and electronic scales. 

Hubbard was transported to the Decatur City Jail and charged with three counts of Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Trafficking in Cocaine. Brito was later transported to Decatur City Jail and charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of marijuana 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/Delivery-Sale, Carry Pistol without Permit, and Resisting Arrest. 

Hubbard will be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $20,000.00 total bond. Brito’s aggregate bond was set at $27,000.00 in which $25,000.00 is required in cash.”
