Letha South Canales, 87, of Huntsville passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Mrs. Canales is preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Canales and her parents, Floyd and Mary Strange South. Mrs. Canales was the owner and operator of Letha’s Frame Maker and Atez Gifts, also owner of Merle Norman Studio in Winchester, Tennessee. Mrs. Canales was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Holcomb; a son, Anthony Canales (Joan);, a brother, Willard South; two sisters: Nina Wise (Burl) and Sara Beshirs (Russ); six grandchildren: Christopher Canales (Angie), Susanna Werner (Brian), Katie Fetner (Matt), Bekki Williams (Ryan), Erin Holcomb and Curtis Holcomb (Chrystal); seven great grandchildren, BreAna, Wyatt, Sam, Will. Cameron, Kylee, and Katelyn.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 3:00pm until 5:00 pm at Berryhill Funeral Home. Funeral will be Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 1:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home with Lincoln Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Donations may be made to Spanish Preachers Bibles c/o Mayfair Church of Christ and Childrens Programs at Twickenham Church of Christ.
