Downton Abbey Premiere Party

Enjoy the season four premiere of Downton Abbey with other fans at the library! The party starts at 7 pm, and we’ll screen the premiere at 8 pm. Bookmarks Coffee Shop will have tea and snacks available. For more information, call 256-764-6564, ext. 22.

You can help save a life by donating blood for this American Red Cross blood drive in the library’s Conference Room. The library will waive up to $5 in overdue fines for each person who donates, and each donor will also receive a coupon for a free coffee or hot tea from Bookmarks Coffee Shop.aarp drivers

AARP Driver Safety Course
Thursday, January 30, 9:00am – 4:00pm

Cars have changed. So have traffic rules, driving conditions, and the roads you travel every day. Some drivers age 50+ have never looked back since they got their first driver’s licenses, but even the most experienced drivers can benefit from brushing up on their driving skills with this Driver Safety Course.

You may be eligible to receive an insurance discount upon completing this course, so consult your agent for details. You might also be eligible to receive a discount on roadside assistance plans. AARP membership is not required to take the course and there are no tests to pass.

Pre-registration is required for this course. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. The course includes a one-hour lunch break from 12:00-1:00 pm. Participants have the option of purchasing a $7.50 box lunch from the library’;s own Bookmarks Coffee Shop. The box lunch includes a spread sandwich, soft drink or water, chips, and a cookie.
