FLORENCE – Matthew David Ayers, 41, and his wife, Patricia Allana Edmon Ayers, 32, , arrested last January in connection with their alleged production and distribution of child pornography, have been formally indicted. The Lauderdale County Grand Jury indicted the couple on November 14.

The indictment alleges that the couple used their 7-year-old daughter in their photographs. According to the indictment, the photos, taken in the couple’s bedroom, were found on their personal computer hard drives at their home on Lauderdale 298 in Florence. A State of Alabama forensics technician reportedly found sexually-suggestive photos of Ayers, his wife and the girl.
The charges include production of two counts of dissemination of child pornography, child pornography, one count of allowing a child to participate in child porn, one count of first-degree rape of a child under 12, first-degree sodomy of a child under 12, first-degree sexual abuse of a child under 12 and another sexual-related charge, according to reports.
The couple are being held at the Florence-Lauderdale County Detention Center on $1-million bonds.
It has been reported that the case will also be presented to a Federal grand jury within the next few weeks.
