Charles Elliotte Howell Jr., 72, of Huntsville died Sunday, November 3, 2013. He was born March 12, 1941. Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Pickens Howell; and his parents, Helen and Charles Howell.
He is survived by his son, Chuck Howell and wife, Marianne; daughter, Lee Alice Estes and husband, Allen; sister, Helen Sterbutzel and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Katherine, Charlie and Anne Hope Howell and Jack, Alice and Sam Estes; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Howell was a native of Hartselle. He graduated from Florence State with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He served in the Air National Guard for six years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as dogs.
Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield. (www. laughlinservice.com)
