Mrs. Peggy Joan Jones, 82, of Center Star, Ala., died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at ECM Hospital in Florence. Services will be Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home Chapel, Athens. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until service time. Burial will be at Center Star Cemetery with Stan Pruitt officiating.
Mrs. Jones was born May 17, 1931, in Lauderdale County. She was a member of Center Star Church and retired from Brooks High School Cafeteria as manager.
She is survived by daughters, Myra Johnson, of Gilbert, S.C., and Dee Ann Corum, of Center Star; sons, Barry Joe Jones, of Center Star, Charles Neil Jones, of Center Star, Herbert Jace Jones, of Center Star, and Randall Lee Jones, of Mobile, Ala.; grandchildren, Kelli Frost, Kary Hartzog, Kory Johnson, Amanda Crowe, Haley Moore, Kylie Corum, Holden Corum, Vanessa Gough, LeeAlice Dance, Priscilla Brewer, Kelli Green, Kyle Green and Lauren Conner; and great-grandchildren, Bailey Frost, Dylan Frost, Josie Frost, Luke Hartzog, Leland Hartzog, Connor Johnson, Landon Johnson, Garrett Crowe, Carson Moore, Madi Moore, Bailey Gough, Taylor Tucker, Harrison Dance, Alexander Dance, Spencer Dance, Syndey Brewer, Brooks Brewer, Dillon Green, Anna Katherine Green, Brooke Conner and Julie Conner.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and special friends, James and Robbie Spry.
She was preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Lucille Holden; husband, C.H. Jones; grandsons, Brandon Jones and Bradley Jones; and sister, Doris Parker.
Pallbearers will be Kory Johnson, Holden Corum, Josh Moore, Josh Crowe, Dylan Frost, Jimmy Frost, Rob Hartzog and Brady Bedingfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Snoody, Billy Snoody, James Spry and Jimmy Parker.
