Louis R. TrousdaleLouis R. Trousdale, 80, of Florence, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013.  He was born on July 24, 1933.

Visitation will be from 12-2 PM Wednesday, August 28, 2013, with Funeral Services to follow at 2 PM at Florence Boulevard Church of Christ where he was a member, with Bro. Dale Boren and Bro. Todd Chastain officiating.  Burial will be at Butler Cemetery.  Elkins East Chapel will be assisting the family.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jane Sledge Trousdale; parents, Lillie Belle and Clarence Trousdale; eight brothers; two sisters.

Louis is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Joyce Pickens Trousdale; seven children, Sandra McGuffey, Tony Trousdale (Teresa), Denise Beene (Keith), Shawn Forsythe (Jay), Bill Cabler (Caroline), Junior Cabler (Nancy), and Kim Crunk (Bill); twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Rosa Garcia (Alberta); brother, Johnson Trousdale (Nancy); numerous nieces and nephews.  Louis dearly loved his family and friends and never hesitated to show that love.

Louis had a “green thumb” and was great at raising plants and gardening.  He always loved sharing his plants and vegetables with family and friends.  He dearly loved the many pets he raised, especially Dixie Lou and Bama.  He also enjoyed traveling with Goodtime Travel Tours and his dear friend Dale Boren.  He was a retired member of the Boilermakers Local #455.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Hudson, Samuel Hudson, Bill Cabler, Junior Cabler, Keith Trousdale, Jeff Weatherford, Matt Trousdale, and Bobby Argraves.  Honorary pallbearers are Krutcher Trousdale, Billy Trousdale, Wayne Trousdale, W.C. Robertson, Calvin Miles, and Bill Morrison.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Felix Morris and his staff, Dr. and Mrs. Anthony Kalliath, the Respiratory Staff and nurses of ICU at ECM Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.

    LOUIS WAS A GREAT GUY AND A HARD WORKER .I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN HIM ONE MORE TIME.WORK ON ALOT OF JOBS WITH HIM BE FOR I GOT OUT OF THE BOILERMAKERS.

    Worked alot of jobs with Louis over the years. Fun guy. Good worker and a nice guy. Will be missed.
