Saturday Statement from Governor Robert Bentley on Severe Weather Outbreak

Governor Robert Bentley on Saturday issued the following statement regarding the impact of severe weather across the state:

“Daylight has revealed the extent of the damage in several communities that were in the paths of storms that moved through Alabama Friday night.  This is in addition to the damage left behind by storms earlier in the day on Friday.
Our emergency managers and first responders are in several communities assessing damage and responding to needs. Across the state, we will use every resource we have available to provide assistance.  Recovering from another round of storms will be a long-term process.  That process is always difficult.  But I have seen the determination of our people, and we will rebuild and recover together.  Our prayers are with every person who has been affected.
I want the people of Indiana, Kentucky, and other states that were impacted to know that our prayers are also with them following these storms.  The people of Alabama can identify with you and stand with you during this difficult time.”
