First Class Pre-kindergarten grants funded by the Office of School Readiness

lauderdale county schools FLORENCE-The Lauderdale County School System has been awarded three First Class Pre-kindergarten grants funded by the Office of School Readiness. The pre-k programs will be located at Waterloo, Wilson, and LCHS. Applications are currently being taken for the 2013-2014 school year.
Applications may be picked up at the Lauderdale County Board of Education, located at 355 county road 61, or at the school offices of Waterloo, Wilson, and LCHS.
Completed applications must be submitted to the Lauderdale County Board of Education no later than 10:00 am, Friday, August 2, 2013.
Enrollment is open to all children. Based on current funding, there are 18 Pre-k slots available at each site. The slots will be filled through a random lottery process beginning at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 6 at the Board of Education.
To apply for a slot, children must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2013. A monthly tuition fee will be charged based on a sliding income scale.
